Certification Program
Q. What is the ESM Association Certified Employee Services Professional (CESP) designation all about?
A. ESM Association’s Certified Employee Services Professional (CESP) program is designed to validate your knowledge, earn the respect of your peers and to enable you to grow in the employee services field.
Q. Why would I want to consider earning my CESP designation?
A. Earning the CESP designation establishes you as an expert in the employee services field.
Q. What does it take to earn a CESP designation?
A. Applicants must qualify through an application process. Once qualified, applicants receive reading materials and an Exam consisting of multiple choice and essay questions. Within 60 days of receipt, you must return the Exam for grading.
Q. How much does applying for a CESP designation cost?
A. Applicants must submit $100 along with their CESP application.
Q. Once I am certified, are there any continuing education or re-certification requirements?
A. Every two years, CESPs must renew their designations. To re-certify, you must earn at least 10 points every two years and complete and send the re-certification form along with $50 to ESM Association Headquarters. Following are a few examples of how to earn points toward renewing your CESP designation.
• Recruit an ESM Association General/Chapter Organizational member
• Attend an ESM Association Annual Conference & Exhibit
• Provide documentation that you are the person at your company responsible for any of “ESM Association’s 10 Components of a Well-Rounded Employee Services Program”
• Attend an employee-services-related education program
• And more!
Q. Where can I get more information?
A. Visit the ESM Association website at www.esmassn.org and click on “CESP Certification.” You also may call ESM Association Headquarters at 630-559-0020 or e-mail esmahq@esmassn.org.
