Volunteering to chair a SIG

Are you looking for an opportunity to contribute to a project that values your time and talent? If so, consider chairing a Shared Interested Group (SIG). Chairing a SIG, and working with like-minded professionals is a very rewarding experience. SIGs are a great way to network with peers in an efficient manner! In addition, you’ll benefit from in-depth information in your specialty areas and the opportunity to network with others who share your interests. SIGS create the opportunity to: expand professional circles, benchmark with professionals facing the same challenges and opportunities as you do, meet with professionals within your local area, host events and programs that relate to your field of interest, and develop new ideas in your professional service area.
Topics May Include:
• A component of employee services, such as Wellness, Recognition or Employee Stores.
• Groups within our profession, such as volunteers, employee association leaders, full-time employee services providers, or multi-hatters.
• Cities containing a concentration of employee services providers, such as employee services providers in Chicago.
• Employee services providers working in particular industries, such as healthcare, 24/7 workforces, government, human resources, work/life, etc.
• And more!
If you understand the value in leadership and peer-to-peer networking then please consider chairing a SIG.
Anyone interested in Chairing a SIG, should respond as soon as possible.

A Short Biography:
I have worked for BAE Systems (formally Lockheed Sanders) for 34 years. During my career, I have held many positions in the Human Resources arena but am currently a Senior Human Resources Representative for the Electronic Solutions Sector which is located in Nashua, NH. Currently, I plan, organize, coordinate and administer most of the company-paid programs for approximately 19K employees located across the country. Those programs include the Service Recognition Program and annual
Service Award Banquet, Memorial Contribution Program, League Subsidy Program, the annual Children's Holiday Party, the annual Turkeys Distribution and Butterball Gift Card Program and the annual company
outing.
Additionally, I plan employee-paid trips to local area attractions, manage the company on-site store, coordinate the ticket consignment program, organize on-site vendor days, and am also responsible for the Employees Services Website that includes an electronic bulletin board, event schedule, classified ads, two virtual stores, trip announcements and discounts. As you can see I do a lot for a one person office, but I do have wonderful volunteers across the sector that help me!
