ESM Association
Interim Executive Director
Renee Mula
Renee Mula brings over 12 years of non-profit experience
to this position. She has worked for ESM Association for
the past nine years, most recently as Director of
Communications, in which she provided strategic
leadership in the areas of member communications, staff
management, public relations, program development,
departmental budgeting, and conference promotion and
execution.
On accepting the position, Mula stated, "After nine
years of working in ESM Association's Communications
Department, I look forward to my new responsibilities and
challenges. I believe in the value of employee services
and I recognize the wealth of knowledge and dedication
our members bring to this organization. In the coming
months, we will look to enhance the value of this
organization and reach out to members and nonmembers who
share in this belief. I am excited about what's to
come."
A Search Committee comprised of leaders from ESM
Association's Board of Directors and the ESM Association
Foundation conducted a search to replace long-time
Executive Director Pat Stinson, who recently retired.
Search Committee Chair and Immediate Past President
Jennifer Morgan, CESP, supervisor, Workforce Enhancement,
National Security Technologies, LLC, Las Vegas, NV,
expresses enthusiasm, saying, "On behalf of the ESM
Association Board, as well as our Search Committee, we
are pleased to announce that Renee Mula has agreed to
accept the position of Interim Executive Director. Her
years of experience with the organization are necessary
in knowing what it will take to move the association
forward. Renee has a handle on our membership---what we,
as members, are thinking, needing and wanting from the
organization. Renee's knowledge and understanding of
association management, as well as her relationship with
ESM Association members, will lead us in the direction of
becoming the premiere organization in employee
services."
While at ESM Association, Mula has helped to shape the
"10 Components" of employee services and
utilized them to communicate ESM Association's mission.
She was integral in conceptualizing and implementing
valuable member services such as NewsTracker, Member
Surveys and Online Conference Evaluations. She also built
strong relationships with members by promoting their
programs in ESM Magazine, visiting their facilities and
conducting presentations at chapter meetings.
Mula joined the ESM Association staff as the ESM
Magazine editorial assistant. Due to her fresh
ideas, skills, passion for her job, and motivation, she
was quickly promoted to editor. Soon after, Mula earned
the position of ESM Association's Director of
Communications. In this position, she continued editing ESM
Magazine while she managed the Communications
Department. Over the years, Mula has provided support for
the marketing and overall management of ESM Association's
Annual Conferences & Exhibits, where she conducted
presentations on the value of the association and its
services.
Her past affiliations include public relations consultant
for Big Brothers Big Sisters of DeKalb County, public
relations consultant and house/stage manager for Letting
Go Theatre Co., and secretary and vice president on the
Board of Directors for the Public Relations Student
Society of America (PRSSA). Currently, Mula is a member
of the Association Forum. She holds Bachelor's Degrees in
both Corporate Communications and Journalism from
Northern Illinois University (NIU), DeKalb, IL.
